Chris
Matthews initially was talking about Ted Cruz.
He wants to blow up the Republican party, and Rand Paul wants to turn
the party libertarian, which offends others who really like big government as
long as THEY hold the whip - - and things like pointless wars and an
overbearing NSA is just fine with then.
Then the topic turned to Chris Christie and I almost hate to talk about
this because it is so darn depressing, not to mention - - disturbing. Christy is kind of one of those “fioux” good
guys. People see Democrats in his back
pocket and they think he’s open minded and bi-partisan, and they see him as a
ruthless prosecutor and call it “dedicated” and also he is prickly and abrasive
with reporters and they call it “He’s a direct guy who wants to get things done
and doesn’t take crap from anybody”. But
as Chris Matthews and friends probe further they see certain patterns from
years ago that may not have seemed significant at the time but now form an all
too disturbing pattern. In his first
race he libeled and slandered his opponent and actually LOST the court case- -
but he WON the election. It’s another
case of how a lie is spread half way around the world before the truth even has
its boots on. There WAS no
“investigation of the district attorney of his opponent”. He made the thing up out of thin air, and got
away with it. Other times Christie
believes in a divide and conquer strategy.
He does highly selective prosecutions.
If he sees a guy without moral scruples- - really crooked- - sell out
your own grandmother kind of guy- - he will shield him, and then woo the guy
and get him to come to work for him. He
won another campaign by first refusing to prosecute a guy who was clearly
guilty. Then after the guy gets off- -
Christie attacks everybody else for a decision HE made and calls the rest of the
staff incompetent. Then after he got
considerably more power he didn’t need to rely on such oblique methods but just
hauls and fires the prosecutors- - for going after one of his “buddies”. Everything he does is like an elaborate power
game. I kind of suspect that Jim is the
same way. He plays people and tries to
turn people against other people. It
kind of is a dark glimmer of how the antichrist might come to power. Because I’ve always wondered how the Prince
of Darkness could get hordes of people on his side as his die hard fanatics- -
and yet be the most completely evil man that ever lived.
I watched Meet the Press and Mitt Romney was
on, actually making sense. He talked
about how spending a couple Billion on the Olympics for a nation is normal, but
spending fifty billion on the Olympics is just vanity, because that money could
be better used to feed and serve the poor.
I’m glad Romney grew a conscience.
He also treaded gingerly around the topic of gay marriage saying that
it’s possible that gay marriage could have an impact on society. I don’t think there is any question our
society has suffered a major moral downgrade due to all of these repent gay
marriages. Then they had a debate
between Bill Nye and a conservative lady on the subject of global warming. David Gregory appears to be back to his old
self actually pressing and confronting people hard for answers. This is refreshing to see.
It
was the ABC network news and later it was the Mc Laughlin Group. They covered four topics. It seems the leader of France and the
President have a unifying bond because both are languishing in the polls. France is one country who was behind our effort
to attack Syria, to intervene to ease the violence and the human
suffering. Now things are worse in Syria
the past two weeks. That’s not good. I still say the president should have gone
ahead and attacked when he had said “the line was crossed”. By failing to do so he appears like a
pushover. France also wants to be tough
with Iran and their Nukes. The idea that
a country swimming in oil would just decide out of the blue they want nuclear
power, is still a hard one to swallow.
Too hard to swallow. There was
talk about death row in Washington. They
have far fewer inmates on death row than we do, but their governor, as well as
the governors of Oregon and Illinois – have all put a stay on all executions in
their state. John Mc Laughlin came out against
capital punishment. I can definitely
understand that for the emotional welfare of the victim’s loved ones, now
“closure” if much more effective when the perpetrator is no longer in this
world. President Obama has a lot of
“Executive actions” up his sleeve involving some unbelievable business
regulations including calories on all foods including vending machines, and
mandentory cameras on the backs of cars so you don’t run people over, backing
out. Then there was that resolution or
“Class action suit” against Obama and the National Security
Administration. I am not exactly opposed
to that idea. It’s a hell of a lot
better than a lot of class action suits that clog up the courts. “Burn Notice” is on now, and KCOP is the
station getting testy with its antenna reception. This morning I observed the full moon due
west in the sky.
At
last there is a little justice in this world.
That “music killer” in Florida with the convenience store shooting of
Black teenagers in a van - - the jury found the defendant guilty of attempted
second degree murder on three different counts and also enhanced by the
discharge of a firearm into a vehicle.
The jury was hung on the charge of first degree murder and the
prosecution says they will try that case again.
Well that’s more like it. At
least now we know that everybody in the entire state of Florida isn’t
nuts. The jury took something like four
days in deliberation.
On
KFI they had a thing on demonic activity I found enlightening. You can’t carry on a conversation with a
demon because you’ll only get sucked down into a black hole. Scripture says to resist the devil and he’ll
flee from you, but on this show they said that demons feed on anger and
resistance, do I’m not sure what to do.
Demons in objects are one thing but of course demons can enter
people. I thought of catching the Jesus
Christ show but then reconsidered at all the ads. I turned on KNBC and had more of Glen’s
tea. I still have two tea bags
left. Glen has asked me numerous times
for a cigarette today and each time I tell him I don’t have one. I got my medication just before
breakfast. Given my moods these days- -
the earlier, the better. Last night it was “Burn Notice’
where you get these nuggets of wisdom about mistakes not to commit when you’re
contemplating doing various risky acts connected with criminal activity. I turned it off at twenty to ten. I have no specific plan to do a blog post
today but it’s a possibility. Mitt
Romney as of now doesn’t not to run again.
They did not have any “Love songs” feature on Breakfast with the
Beatles. They had a version of “I Am The
Walrus” that was a dead ringer for “The Cult”.
This is one I was sure and told Bill “For once they have an easy
one”. It turned out to be Oingo
Boingo. Once again I was fooled.
I went and when it was clearly getting light
in here I turned on the Stephanie Miller program. This was an interesting program since
Stephanie spoke of the anti gay forces as like a fish that’s been hooked and is
now flailing around on the deck. It may
be intimidating but for the fish it’s basically all over. The tide has turned against those opposed to
gay marriage whether traditionalists like me like it or not. It’s another case of “You’ll eat it – and like
it”. You have the Courts strongarming
four states into accepting gay marriage even though nobody wants it. These four states are Nevada, Utah, Kentucky,
and Virginia. With the addition of these
four states, it would seem that the number of states by one means or another- -
allow homosexual marriage- - has to be approaching fifty percent doesn’t
it? And in terms of population it would
seem that clearly we now are over fifty percent of the country living in states
that allow gay marriage. (I was going to
say “where gay marriage is mandentory)
There was talk about how Rand Paul may have really stepped in it
bringing up this whole Monica and Bill thing one too many times. People don’t want to hear a story that was
dead fifteen years ago. They would argue
that Rand Paul may have irreparably hurt his chances of the Presidency by
fixating on this story. It’s important that when you have some pet
issue- - and I have to beware of this in my blogs when I get off on weird
cosmic subjects- - that people may tune me out of I continually “say stuff”
they don’t want to hear. But then they
went to commercial. In a Presidents Day
appropriate message- - there was an ad about getting the money out of politics-
- and how dollars have ucerped the rights of people on election day- as far as
having the Vote is concerned. They said
that in 94% of the political races around the country- - the person who spends
the most money wins. We know the
exceptions here in California. The
secret is getting this message out to the masses without having labels such as “liberal”
or “progressive” affixed to it.
Let
me start by addressing the relation with Jim some more. I think it would violate almost anyone's sense of fairness this idea of "taking a gun to a knife fight". I threatened to write Dr Levy about it and
haven’t said a word. I guess I’m just
wondering how a situation can gradually build and escalate for sixteen and a
half months- and then somebody rings a bell and declares the conflict over, and
I’m wondering whether it’s just that simple.
One thing I slipped into the conversation yesterday morning in class was
the situation with Israel and Iran. Can
we believe that Iran won’t develop Nukes just because they say so, and if you
ask how we can believe them with their track record and history of threats and
invectives they just say “Well we said so and therefore you have to believe us”. I don’t have a good feeling about the way
things are now. Jim is in a continuous
complaint mode- - - to the staff and what not.
Like I said before he’s had about ten times as much contact with the
staff as I have. The question I would
raise with Dr Levy is “Should my meds be jacked up merely because you or some
staff member says so- - based on the word of someone who lies ninety percent of
the time. For purely selfish motives I
would love to take more medication to numb my brain so I don’t think about my
problems, but most people would refer to this sort of behavior in anybody else
as drug dependant or worse “addictive behavior”. Is this the sort of behavior that Dr Messina
wants to be associated with. And what do
you think Judy would say about all this if she knew - - - anything about it. I think I mentioned before there is this
false conception of “losing your natural fear of your enemies and predators”. This was one of the reasons why marijuana
was banned in the United States because it was said that when Blacks were on
marijuana they were able to look White people in the face without fear and “stare
them down” and not cower before them as they have been conditioned to do for
centuries. The thing is- - by my own
sloth and procrastination- - like President Obama before me- - I have already
ceded most of the football field to the other side already, and hence forth- -
do to my own inaction- and now dealing from a decided disadvantage. Personally I think my remaining days here are
numbered.
