Behold I shall make the Cross of Christ as a burdensome stone, and many an unwary man will stumble on it, and when he lifts up his hands in prayer the weight of it will be unbearable, and if it falls on him it will crush him
Lat
me say it again. This country doesn’t
HAVE till 2016 to get our progressive act together. Those who think we do are in for a rude
awakening. Consider the example of
Nicole on today’s Days of our Lives episode.
The minute she opened her door and Dr Daniel Jonas was standing there
instead of her fiancé, she knew full well that the world as she has known it
was about to come crashing down around here.
You know when and if a liberal tells a lie or stretches the Truth- - -
they will usually avoid at all costs having to repeat the overt core of the lie
too often, but will rely instead in omissions inferences and imuendos to convey
the same point. But when someone on the
right wing tells a lie, they double down on it and repeat it again and again,
each time more emphatically, pounding the table. Their lie is their whole “reason for being”
(sorry I don’t know the French) – their whole Justification for everything they
do so they HAVE to cling to and repeat the lie, and engage in deception after
deception and cover-up after cover-up, which only makes the Truth that much
more calamatus to them when at last it is revealed. Thom Hartman has spoken of a survey that
shows the poor and the leftists among us to be the more empathetic, and honest,
and hard working, and all of those qualities people profess to admire. We’ll have more on that later but right now I’d
like to run a few moral choice questions by you. There is no right or wrong answer. In the Bible there were the twelve sons of
Israel and they came upon a hostile people who grabbed and raped their sister,
over and over and treated her shamefully.
In revenge they said they were willing to make peace but only if the
other side agreed to “Accept the Lord”, which in those days required being
circumcised. But a day or two later,
while they were still in pain- - a band of them came upon them and slew them
all. When their father Jacob learned
that Simeon and Levi had conspired to do this he was angry with them as “bad
examples”. And the two sons posed a
question. “Is it right for our sister to
be treated by them as a Harlot?” Just
to return to our previous posting.
Perhaps the workers of the next generation will profit from higher
wages- - from their parents having been wiped out by a war or a plague or
whatever. Here is where Neil of KFI goes
off the track. Does that mean that the
war or plague was a Good Thing? Not for
the people who died because of it. You
see sometimes it does matter “where the gift comes from and what the cost of
that gift is”. You know the old story- -
every kid’s fantasy like Bart Simpson.
Your family is driving across the hot desert and suddenly you see an ice
cream truck that broke down fifteen minutes ago and the driver is diswrought
and says “Take all the ice cream you want.
It’s no good to me now”. This is
where some would envoke Chuck Smith’s doctrine of “When the Lord is buying - -
I eat steak”. But Chuck’s problem is
about “Not asking where the gift came from” is that they could have used him as
an advocate when Anaias and Sophirah were on trial for their lives in the NT
book of Acts. This reveals a troubling
philosophical inconsistency on Chuck’s part.
Could it be that some “gifts” just aren’t worth it when you consider all
the baggage and strings that come along with the gift. Let me paraphrase Stephano Di Mira in a
troubling but cryptic statement he made a year or more ago. He said to his own son, “The Day will come when you will beg me to
take back what you have taken from me today.”
Could not Satan say to many of us “The day will come when you will beg
me t take from You - - the Holy Salvation you have received today”. Just allow yourself to think in such terms
of “comparative cost” for once in your life.
Today
I learned a startling fact that wiser people than I have known for a really
long time. It might just be the most
relevetory fact I’ve learned since as a ten year old boy I learned that men and
women had sex with each other to produce children. The ramifications of this new knowledge is
that profound. Thom Hartman today
un-riddled a mystery to me today that I had been wondering about for a long
time. Why are ECO’s paid such
astronomical salary. Even given the fact
they are paid largely in stock options.
This explains the rise in the stock markets over the past thirty years,
but it doesn’t explain why Chief Executive Officer’s salaries are pegged as
such an astronomical price in the first place.
It would seem to me that at some point the stock holders would rise in
protests and say “We are all owners of that corporation too and we are entitled
to bigger dividends we would be getting if you weren’t paying your CEO so
much. It seems what you have here is a
cartel - -price fixing type operation.
It seems there is basically an incestuous relation between all of the
board of directors of all the major companies in the land. They all sit on each other’s boards and “have
each other’s backs” and say to one another “I’ll vote for a high price for your
CEO if you vote for a high wage on ours”.
And so it is. Ronald Reagan set
this whole course in motion by passing this “stock option” law- - and also by
an “executive order” that no Anti Trust action is to be taken by the Attorney
General. By way of addendum, I have learned that in some cases capital gains tax rates are back up to twenty percent. It seems they have made this rate dependent on your annual income. But if a poor man wins a hundred dollars at a crap game- - my understanding is he owes the Government forty of that which he just won, regardless of his income or whether that "income" significantly increases his overall paultry wages all that much.
Here
is another moral question though. If
your British Petroleum and you spill all of that oil in the gulf- - do you
clean it up even though it could take a long time and the operation is very
visable of skimming the oil slick with equipment to clean it up. Or do you take the easy way out and just drop
some chemicals on the water “correctsid” - - which is guess is like carpet
cleaner or something- - which dispurses the oil throughout the whole Gulf and
eventually it settles to the bottom and then washes up on shore once more and
kills all the fish and shrimp. How did
the Obama administration ever allow this scam to occur and never spoke up about
it? How is it that they can run ads
saying “everything is open and better than ever”. It would seem according to the Ed Schultz
show- - that the Coast Guard might as well be run by British Petroleum, because
they kick fishers off their own turf- - and tell them they are not ALLOWED to
clean up the oil slick on their own but must vacate the area, and whole tracts
of land even now are closed off by the government at BP’s bidding. You have places like “Cat Island” which used
to be a major bird nesting ground. They
showed photos of it in 2009 as a vibrant wild life sanctuary with birds and
nesting areas. And they showed it today-
- and it looks it was either hit by a California brush fire or a nuclear attack
of something. The whole island is laid
waste with nothing living. And one of
the leading shrimpers has his business cut to but five percent of what it used
to be. Clearly BP ought to be liable for NOT ONLY all of the economic hardship wrought upon these businessmen, but they should throw in punitive damages not only for personal suffering and all, but also for the money they FAILED TO SPEND by not doing the job right in the first place. If you trip on a loose porch step at your neighbor's house- you can win damages - - and the law invokes the "right to act stupidly or carelessly" law. So if it's partially your own fault you can sue, But if something big and overpowering you strikes you out of the blue- - then you are not allowed to sue.
Then
we have the city of Detroit. Now they
have turned off the water of the poor people, mainly minorities, who can’t
afford to move to a better place. And
yet golf courses and other big companies that use a lot of water are given a
pass. And remember that Detroit sits
next to one of the largest bodies of fresh water in North America – and they
can’t get water to people’s apartments, and give them zero warning so they can’t
even fill up their bathtubs or anything?
Clearly there are four governors it’s imperitive that we defeat in
November. This is that Abott guy running
for Governor of Texas. We have Rick
Scott of Florida, and Scott Walker of Wisconsin. Then we have Governor Snyder who almost
single handedly it would seem ucerped the governmental processes and somehow
obtained control over the financial destiny of the City of Detroit. It’s as many were saying about New Orleans
after Katrina. The loss of population
was a good thing because now they can “clear the decks” and get rid of all the
poor people and privatize the whole city and completely remake it, the way the
Roman Empire virtually wiped Jerusalem off the map in 135 AD. Someone ought to sneak up on Governor Snyder
in his sleep and slit his throat. Of if
that’s too messy you should strangle him with one of his wife’s silk
stockings. This is clearly one of the
most despicable men since Mitt Romney. And
so we again come back to these morality tests Thom Hartman was talking about
yesterday and today, but that you won’t hear about on any of the mainstream
media. It would seem that the poor are
more empathetic than the rich as far as helping out their fellow man. The poor are more law abiding than the rich
even- the rich are far more prone to run traffic lights for example. And one congressman a few years back got
drunk and killed someone in his car- - and was given a pass by the authorities,
because he was a congressman. But the
rich aren’t even more productive or industrious as we have been led to
believe. They have short work weeks and
their chief skills are things like going to cocktail parties and having trophy
girlfriends hanging on their arm. And
they need to know how to make a good speech (just like Gordon Gecko) at the
weekly board meetings. And of course he
needs to know how to work congress on the lobby front. But as Thom Hartman points out- - he needs
one more trait only two percent of the population at large has in America - -
he needs to know how to be a total sociopath in word and deed. Hartman talked about some test on “ethics and
economics” done- - and the few people who “flunk” this test are certifiable
Sociopaths and Chairmen of the Board- - such as Mitt Romney. We live in an era where “liberties” means
the “liberty” not to have ANY laws as either a private or public moral
guideline. They will say “We have a
Constitution of limited government”, when what they really are after is NO
government, except, of course, their own.
They fully expect that government is their “personal hand-maiden” just
as they expect God Himself to be their personal lackey. It’s essentially the freedom to be entirely
egocentric - - and we are informed that rich people even stair at themselves in
the mirror more than the poor. In fact the doctrine of the Christian "Rapture" came about by people who were probably egocentric. It's not a historic church doctrine, that of some secret "snatching away out of the world" of a select, priveleged few. But the
Constitution is a contract involving "We, the people", and the government should be us, the citizens, who are people. Corporations are not people. The constitution spells out what powers we - the people want it to have and spells out guidelines- - and makes it clear that congress was
given vast legislative powers- - to fulfill such goals as securing the
blessings of liberty to ourselves and posterity, and promoting the general
welfare, and providing for the common defense, which in my book means having a
legal system because we sure need to be “protected and defended” from corporate
crooks out there. These rich people are
like Nicole, who want to be “left alone” and the fact they act really strangely
is something they don’t want or need us to be alarmed by. It’s funny how in legislatures- - often there
appears to be no action at all for months on pressing bills- - then all of a
sudden they pass a raft of bills in the dead of night barely having a
quarum. Jesus said that in the last day
secrets would be revealed. “Everything
that is hidden will be seen in the light of day”.
We
come to President Obama and his statement to a graduating class at West Point
of all places – in which Obama says “Just because we have the best military
hammer in the world, doesn’t mean we have to view every problem as a nail”. To me this speech went way over-board and I
don’t see the point of it. Clearly our
problem lately is that we haven’t “brought the hammer down” enough with people
like Vladimir Putin, and Iran and Syria, and now even in Nigeria. This President is a first rate waffeler. First he says we’re saying in Afghanistan two
more years after the end of 2014- - - almost in anticipation of their being
problems in the next two years- - then he makes a speech like this. And he won’t fire Gen Shensecki at the
VA. Now that scandal had grown and the
problems in Phoenix are replicated in cities all over America, such that this
problem of falsifying records has become “systemic”. Fifty-eight congressmen have gone on record
as wanting the President to fire Shensecki.
The average wait time now for Veterans is 115 days, when the previous
general guidelines were two weeks, tops.
And it seems that many people now try and save money and end up seeing a
“Doc in the Box”, which has to be the latest new dictionary term. It’s one of these “free clinics”, but the
trouble is that each time you see a different doctor who doesn’t know your
medical history or know what treatment the last doctor prescribed. As a
patient- - Society as we know it doesn’t have long to live.
