The State of My Own "Knowledge" - 5 yrs After

When all is said and done -

whether the world advances in knowledge

at a slow rate or a faster rate

is entirely up to the providence of God

This is Friday June 3, 2011 and I’ve been planning to write out the rent check all day but keep finding reasons to put it off. Otherwise known as Billy Jo day or “stranded on a trail in San Diego County” day. (1982) Before dinner I read the entire April link of the Rocca Rolla blog with four entries. I’d generally give myself an A for my overview of everything connected with the Orion Federation. However I apparently made one misstatement of fact when I said “there are no humans or any animal forms on Reigel V”. Both are untrue. The radiation killed off all the small life such as insects and birds, but there are large lizard like creatures living there. Also although the government declared the radiation on Reigel V unsafe years ago they did nothing about it, and the amazons still live there. This is most closely likened to “the turquoise people of Orion” on that pilot Startrek episode. Not to be sexist but there are men there, too. A couple things I noted about my overview then which cause me to question “was I right then, or am I right now?” is this whole notion of “Time” being a near meaningless concept. Clearly there are “events” that occur in these places. They have history and progression. The whole idea of speaking of living people on earth living “in the present” on another planet is a puzzling concept. I won’t try to explain that. And I also seemed hung up on this idea of “portals” on earth. I had the conception of a psychic “plain” where time existed simotaniously all at once in one “dimension” and the line between the earth portal and the distant planet being the “other” dimension. I am unable to support this notion.

There is a basic difference between “knowledge” and “science”. Knowledge in the Greek sense or “conosco” has to do with becoming experienced with or acquainted with. How your brain interprets this input data depends on whether you pursue the rout of “Faith” or “Science”. However “Faith” need not be based on any actual first hand knowledge, in fact a theologian would prefer that yours not be. “Don’t let the facts get in the way of Doctrine” is one of their adages. Science on the other hand is “the study of” or “logos”. This connotes some intellectual rigor or discipline. You have to employ inductive and deductive logic, and also, as our new friend Michael reminds, an algorithm or two wouldn’t hurt. But as I was complaining about Michael this morning, the trouble with a mind that tends twords the scitzophrenic is that he tends to get so wrapped up in his own thoughts and mental conclusions and/or unreasoned prejudices, that this takes him out of the “here and now” so that he is rendered incapable of interacting with other people. I don’t want this to happen with me. But so many Christians refuse to dialog with you. They want to shoot their wad and when you think they are done and about to say something, they wind up for another verbal volley. As such conversation with these people becomes a monolog. Christians seem strangely disinterested in the “here and now” or “what does that sermon have to do with the price of tea in China?” The only time they want you in the “here and now” is in your Submission to them - - NOW.

The people who did the Dune movie had the ingenious idea of “space folding”. We have almost alluded to this in our “green golf course grid” view of the Universe where one could imagine some unseen dimension wherein you can “fold” your two dimensional matter. But the problem, as I have noted, is that in doing so you’d cause utter chaos half way across the galaxy. How do the Dune people logically get around this problem? On the original StarTrek pilot they used the term “Time-warp factor” implying that Time alteration was a key factor in achieving Warp speed. But wouldn’t distorting “time” as we know it- - -not only affect the space ship but also kill any human life inside? This is why our friends from “Asteroids” and their “jump to hyperspace” makes much more sense, because in doing so you deal with the special separation problem without the necessity of modifying Time. Some of you may remember that Missing Time incident I’ve brought up several times. You may say “You seem to remember at least some things about the planet where you landed. Do you remember anything at all about the Space Ship?” And I say “You have a point. No, I don’t”. The way they “play” these things on Star Trek, like with Warf and his “sliders” experiences- - is that you have all of Time at your disposal and you can “do the best you can to try and pinpoint the right landing spot” the way US astronauts do when they land. But there is another very obvious explanation for that near hour or so that “elapsed” and this is simply- - this is the length of time I was actually on the planet. The time in the space was just shrunk down to nothing- - or maybe two or three minutes or something, each way. Just think of it. If all of human kind had the same disregard for “actual historical fact” as the Church Fathers did, then all of human history would be useless. But thank God most humans are not like churchmen, or at least if they were, in some primal past, then they grew out of it. (Selah)

John Edwards used illegal use of campaign funds to cover up his affair and out of wedlock child. Now he pleads guilty. I’m not inclined to point the finger at this one because like Swartzenegger - - it’s mainly his political opponents who “get off” on this sort of thing. Dr. Levy is famous for attacking Swartzenegger from the right.

Allright, stop everything – James Arness, star of “Gunsmoke” has passed away. Ted Armstrong used to quote someone as saying “If it must be, then let the world come to an end while I’m watching Gunsmoke”. I just went down to the office, first to get my mail, and they I came back a few minutes later with a check for the rent.

Jack “the dripper” Kavorcian, alias “Dr. Death” has died at age 83 and he died a natural death. No one took his life. Bill Handel applauds what he did. I guess I’m not that ready to throw out centuries of religious admonition into the trash can. I can’t endourse someone who aids in a suicide no matter what kind of pain or anguish the patient is in. I won’t condemn it either. I’ll just leave it to God. Jack died of pneumonia and other complications. Now his supporters are saying “He would have done something about it - -if he had the strength to move”. As Bon Scott says, “Take a chance, while you still have the choice”. (Selah) The doctor’s one regret was that he did not press harder to get legislation passed legalizing suicide. You can try.

Last night the Dallas Mavericks tied the series up one and one by “stealing a game” in Miami beating the Heat in a late 20 to 3 run or something. I was doing stuff on computer earlier in the evening and missed most of the first part of the game.

I slept well last night. I haven’t been having any disturbing dreams lately. I got coffee from Dana in the morning. I had Stephanie Miller on. Later on the patio, Michael was reverting back to the way he was when he first got here, being abusive and ordering the staff about and getting in arguments with everyone. Anyone who uses “Jesus Christ” every other word, especially when they pepper their speech with the F word, they really don’t have any credibility, religions or otherwise. What’s weird with these people is even when you want to agree with them on something - - they will still cut you off.

We had Rice Krispies and scrambled eggs and toast without condiment. I mentioned to Loretta about Michael, who was still raging about something in the dining room his use of the Lord’s name in vain and she said “He’s headed for serious trouble with God”. Rose is still deluded into thinking you-know-who is in love with her. She thinks she has a good figure. Yeah- - - for a giant bowling ball.

Now there is a new, dangerous strain of E coli in Germany and Spain, as the cause of this major outbreak is being investigated. Now there is worry in America. Now they say anti-biotics won’t work. Hospitals are put on alert but I’m wondering why- - because we know hospitals themselves have the most dangerous bacteria on premises.

Today is gay, lesbian, trans-gender and bi-sexual heritage month. I guess my views on homosexuality are the same as many Southerners about blacks in the sixties. I know the society transformation is coming- - just don’t remind me about it.

Randy Rhodes and Thom Hartman both are concerned about an overall lack of plans to refurbish the infra-structure of America. This isn’t the ‘fifties. We have to find a way to place the finger of guilt squarely on John Boehner and Paul Ryan.

I went for coffee at ten and at two. I had two cups of regular coffee in the morning and two cups of black coffee in the afternoon. That light golden retriever dog, “Colby” was out and about both times. He is eleven, which makes him 77 in dog years. Rose and I thought he needed more water. Glen was in the office having a conversation about coffee makers and I was worried. It seems they want to buy HIM a new coffee maker and not to prohibit the use of them. There were only the three white birds in the cage both times. I have had a lot of drowsiness lately, and I guess that’s not too bad. Maybe it shows I’m anxiety free.
