Supreme Court Approves ACA Subsedies

The Supreme Court had given a thumbs up to all aspects of the Affordable Care Act even the controversial state subsedies, that were supposed to have been instituted by non-existant state run exchanges.   The ruling was six to three in favor of the Obama administration, which is one more than the five to four decision they rendered three years ago, with Justice Kennedy switching sides this time and voting in the affirmative.  The whole controversy centered on a few isolated words in the text of the law saying that the “state run exchanges” were responsible for administering the subsedies for the insured.  Without the subsedies it was said that eventually the whole Health Care program would fall apart after a while because healthy people who couldn’t afford it would just not be on the exchanges at all.  On the “Today” show they interrupted endless coverage of the local LA fires around here for an NBC breaking news story, and I was guessing this would be the topic.  This topic will dominate talk radio today.  This case was kind of a “last hope” of the right wing.  Justice Scelia suggested that from now on they should just refer to the ACA as SCOTUS care- - for Supreme Court.   In Ted Cruz’s words “Once more and more people get a taste of the sugar” than the Affordable Care Act will be more popular.  Stocks in healthcare stocks has jumped up sharply after the hour or two after this Court ruling became known.  A lot of the ruling hinged on the phrase "such exchanges" meaning exchanges that were the same in kind- - as the state exchanges.

I thought of doing a Twin Spin of Washington’s blog in terms of either posting both of them or pasting both to a Word file.  One is how the US Military wants to kill journalist by calling them first “unlawful combatants” and then Obama changed it to “unprivileged antagonists”, which is awkward to say.  Obama likes to be belligerent to the media himself, and of course is the champion of having Whistle Blowers thrown in jail, more than all the previous presidential administrations put together.  Then there was a “Day the earth died” segment on the Trans Pacific Authority.  But I don’t think the article goes far enough.  Not only will current regulations of any country be frozen in place, but I think if you are deemed to have too many regulations- - such as dolphin free tuna- - the regulation will be rolled back.  But the article does make the good point that were there an ecological crisis or an economic crisis down the line and we had to take decisive action, we would be forbidden by law to do anything.
1. Complacency and intellectual laziness
2. Profound political disunity
3. Rise of unproductive complexity
4. Those bearing the sacrifices opt out/quit
5. Decay of effective leadership
6. Rise of bread and circuses mindless entertainment to distract/placate restive citizenry
7. Decline of wealth-producing capacity–status quo living off financial trickery
8. sclerosis–status quo controlled by vested interests
9. Resource depletion/environmental damage

One story that got completely buried was Bobby Jindil declared his candidacy for President today,  Jindil is the first Candidate of Indian extraction to seek the highest office.  But Jindil is kind of the stealth candidate.  There is almost no news about his declaring his candidicy on line, and it's reduced to a one liner even in the media network broadcasts.  He is the thirteenth Republican to officially throw his hat into the ring.

Just to underscore the fact that the Trans Pacific Partnership is worse than the paragraph above says it is, there is actually a memo, which I'm certain President Obama has signed off on, that states that American Workers are overpaid by about twenty percent, and our trade imbalance is CAUSED by the fact that apparently starting with the Reagan administration Americans have TOO MUCH MONEY to spend so they buy up foreign goods.  There is a lot of talk about "evening out the pay scale' and every other scale such as worker safety and environmental concerns.  Clearly there are numerous cases already when because of NAFTA the will of governments is overridden, such as being forbidden to state country of origen on our nation's meat supply.  You know about oil drilling in Canada going against Canadian environmental laws.  You know about how our immigration laws will be made obsolete because workers will be able to come here without the necessity of am American visa to work, and their presence can't be questioned.  In fact the underlying principle is that NOTHING can be questioned, because our Courts are not our own any more, and the Constitutional guarantee of a trial by a jury of our piers is thrown out.  This President is so anti progressive that he has in fact brought more cases against Whistle blowers and all previous Presidents combined.  Whatever dark visions that fundamentalist Christians had forty years ago about a one world government- - this President is in support of.

I went and got my medication from Tom.  There was slight nausea a few minutes later, but it’s been worse.  I had Glen Beck on.  For a while he sounded almost rational – not that I agreed with what he was saying but it was plausible.  But then he launches into this tyrade about President Obama’s communist agenda and how Obama has always been a communist and never repented, and Valerie Jered and her whole family are communists and on the FBI’s most wanted list.   I need to research Valerie Jered on my own, and hopefully I"ll get an objective source that will report the real facts.  Because we all need to know something about these long term advisers the President has always been close to for a decade or longer.

Even in the past ten years society has changed a lot.  Face book and Twitter did not exist ten years ago.  The I Phone did not exist ten years ago.  These things have wrought a major change in people's life styles over the past ten years.  Certainly the "Obama hate machine" did not exist ten years ago.  Ten years ago I was still hoping that George W Bush would have a successful Presidency and we'd have peace in Iraq- - and I was hoping Roe vs Wade would be overturned- - and if President Bush had any ideas about privatizing Social Security- - I was open to them.

What if our Souls- - - - don't exist just in this Universe but what other souls do in parrellel Universes will be credited to our heavenly accounts be it for good or for bad.  One could argue a strange case that major events like today's Supreme Court event could JUST AS EASILY gone the other way and in other parellel universes DID go the other way.  This could be true for most ANY major event in our lives.  What if all of these separate parrellel divisions of the soul somehow Reunite on Judgement Day- - and either a success a failure in this life will have to "live with" the memories of either success or failure of their lives done by their parrellel selves in a parrellel universe.  This would be the Nafta-iszation of our souls where this particular time-space continueoum is only an ACCIDENT or individual happenstance- - religated almost to an ILLUSION and does not represent the Whole Truth of what our Lives will be judged by.  Unsettling thought, huh?
