Be Careful What You Wish For

What we saw in the election results last night was nothing more nor less than the political death of Berock Obama. He is pretty much washed up as a candidate for President this year. Part of it is his own fault. This whole wishy-washy thing has come back to bite him. Hillary Clinton has positioned herself as the strong, decisive leaders with this "Suppose the red phone rang at 3 AM" adds. Berock's come-back to this add was limp wristed at best. The important thing to remember about a mistake in judgement is less that you made it, but more how decisive you are about correcting it once you realize it. One time growing up they were putting a side brick fence in our yard and they were cheating us out of six inches or so of our property. We made the contractors go back and do the thing over and put the line back where it was supposed to be after the first row of bricks was already up. How many of you as kids have been criticized for doing a job badly where some important first task in the overall job was not done properly. You may be well be asked to go back and do the whole job from the start and do it right. We have said that if you buy a weak stock that goes down, your first sign of "admitting you made a mistake" is your willingness to now "man up" as they say on Cops, and take your loss and get rid of the stock. This translates in Iraq to pulling all of our troops out of Iraq immediately if you really believe getting in in the first place was an unsound decision. Where Obama was also beaten is this notion of lying or being mealy-mouthed about NAFTA. As Tom Hartman points out it's not just NAFTA but GATT, the global trade agreement, that's even more important. Are you willing to take on China in trade wars? If not, you're a whoos. Obama was telling the Canadian government that after he was President that he'd ignore all the campaign promises he made to our people because "That's just politics". I bet the good people of Ohio didn't like hearing these words knowing the issue it was. Hartman points out nobody is using the "T" word, meaning terrifs. Any economic policy with bold, decisive leadership will have to involve the imposition of terrifs. Then there's the whole African slash Moslem issue that was thrown up in Obama's face. Obama was shown in Tanzenian native garb. This is only a reminder to people that Obama is of an alien race and an alien religion from theirs. Hillary's denial of this charge was limp wristed at best. She says "Well he says he's not a Moslem so I have no choice but to believe him". She was almost sending a code to her own people "It's OK to be bigoted".

But there is a more serious sign in yesterday's election. As you know the polls had shown Hillary losing ground in Ohio rappidly being only a few points ahead of Obama, and that in Texas Obama had actually pulled ahead. In the final results Obama lost both Ohio and Texas. One reason why is that Rush Limbaugh ordered his people, his bigoted republicans, to vote for Hillary in Texas and Ohio to "bloody Obama up". This is no idle speculation. Rush has admitted this tactic at length on his show today. We already knew that Hillary wins by playing dirty and Hillary is not above telling outright lies to win. No doubt Rush Limbaugh finds these qualities secretly endearing. What Rush Limbaugh has done is to weed out the weaker of the two candidates, Obama, and insured that Hillary would be the standard bearer and would go on to win big in November, now that she has been tested and "vetted" and all that stuff. Obama might have fallen apart anyhow against Mc Cain were he the nominee. His lack of substance in his words may have come back to bite him. Now the democrats don't have this problem because Obama won't be running. Rush Limbaugh defends his meddeling in the political process by saying "Well it's dirty and rotton and under-handed, but the democrats do it so it's OK". I wonder if that's what Rush's mother told him growing up. Do you conquer your enemy by becomming like him? But they aren't the same thing anyhow. Conservative democrats who vote for Mc Cain did so because they felt alienated from the two liberal candidates in their own party. This appealing to the center will help Mc Cain in the fall and Rush should be grateful to these democrats. Is Rush like Anne Coulter? Is he so mad at Mc Cain for getting the nomination that he is now going to turn around and vote for Hillary in the fall? I'm not sure what those super-deligates will make of Rush Limbaugh's political medelling. As you know I am against the open primary. I wish we didn't have them because they muddle the process. We know Hillary's love of getting down and dirty to win a presidential race and thanks to Rush she'll be doing this in November. George Bush has already screwed up the economy so bad, I'm voting for Mc Cain this fall because I don't want to be a part of the deboccle when it happens next year with Hillary as President. I did a President Hillary skit on an early blog of mine in May of 2006. I did an even earlier skit in the late fall of 2005 involving President Hillary. So this result of Hillary as President is not a new one to me. I think candidate Obama needs several more years to mature anyhow.

Of course one thing candidates do is invoke Christianity. No candidate has dared run on anything other than a Christian platform. But in 1980 when I was trying to pitch my prophecy book where I endorsed Ronald Reagan for President- - - I ran into problems because nobody in the Calvary Chappels would help me. Back in those days people at the Calvary Chappels, which involve Chuck Smith as head king pin and all his minions, nobody there thought it was worth risking your "prayer batting average with God" to come out for Ronald Reagen. In those days the Calvaries still maintained they were non political. In reality Calvaries have as their Prime Directive, "Look out for number one". In their view if you have a gift or annointing from God, it's almost a sin to share it or convey it on another. You are to use it only for yourself. In this line of reasoning people don't have enough "energy" to spend their power in the risky business of supporting a Presidential candidate who might not win. In 1996 one Calvary Chapel, and I believe several, had prayer sessions over the presidential race and their slogan was "Thy will be done" meaning whoever wins is God's will and they support God's will. "You just want to be on the side that's winning" as Dylan might say. One Pastor wrote to me in a letter expressly that "If it doesn't happen, then it isn't God's will". These people are Calvinistic to a fault and Calvinism might be summarized as "If you are among the Chosen, you can do no wrong; if you are not among the Chosen; you can do no right". Of course, to quote Rosemary's Baby, "It's important to get those big key breaks early in your carreer". It's amazing how Calvary people and some soap opera characters and Hillary Clinton have one thing in comon: Losing is an alien concept to these people. A lot of these people seem "annointed" from the word Go, and I do not use that word in a flattering sense. Hillary thussly is one of these "annointed". It's like if you're a Calvary Pastor in the sixties and saw all the lynchings and abuses of justice against Blacks down South you'd say something like 'Lord, we lift up this situation to you". And that pretty much "solves" the problem. Words, words, words. If someone is going into business and you're Chuck Smith and someone says "God told me to do thus and so", Chuck will sit back and say "I"d like to see you try. You'll fall flat on your face. Nobody can compete with me". The problem with Hillary is that she's all out for "Number one" but to such an extent that she's divisive. The Calvary Right will have a major problem on their hands this November it being virtually "Agains their religion" to pray for or support someone's who's "only going to end up losing" and therefore lacking the annointing of God. The whole idea of doing something merely because it's right and moral is alien to the Calvaries. Basically if there is genocide going on in your African village and you're Chuck Smith you don't try and stop the genocide you say "Well. I'm sure the Lord is working it out. Let's just sit back and see what happens". One "primal sin" among the Calvaries is acting "without the leadership of God". It's better according to Chuck Smith to do nothing your entire life rather than risk action and have it not work out. To squander energy on a losing proposition is something alien to the Calvaries. Guy Woodhouse in "Rosemary's Baby" never had to worry about whether "things would work out in his carreer". There is a keyboard player of a famous Rock Group who lied about the hits he was part of the group in. He joined the group after the group had had most all of their hits. Like Hillary you tell lies to win and we know now that "winning is everything". When this keyboardest became a Christian his carreer took off and he had numerous solo albums and then owned his own record company. The Wickipedia seems to not be surprised by this. They report it as normal, as if it's something to everybody who becomes a Christian and formerly been a nobody. Of course Chuck Smith talked about people who end up mysteriously dead from "crossing" the leadership. Can anybody say "Vince Foster"? I don't know if we'll ever find out what really happened with Vince Foster. My issue is trust and I don't trust the Calvary Christians, and I don't trust the Clintons. (Selah)
